La Bella e la Bestia Lipsticks

Can I just say, I’ve learnt how to say Beauty and the Beast in Italian – La Bella e la Bestia. Does it count?
Beauty and the Beast has always been my favourite Disney movie ever since I can remember. So a few months ago, when I heard that L’Oréal was releasing limited edition Color Riche Beauty and the Beast lipsticks (and nail polishes), I went straight online for it, only to find out that it was sold on Amazon… in Italy! WHAT?! WHY?! Obviously I don’t know why but it was possible to order it on Amazon. I tried to buy it times but everything was sold out within less than a day. Even after a week, I kept trying (I don’t like giving up too easily). Though, in the end, I had to accept that I wouldn’t have these lipsticks in my collection *sigh*.

UNTIL a couple of weeks ago. I was going through the history on my phone and was curious about the lipsticks, so I clicked the link (best decision ever). After months, the lipsticks were back in stock! I managed to buy 3 of them at around 12 Euros each: Bell, Beast and the Feather Duster. All the colours are very wearable for any occasion and I feel that with L’Oréal’s Color Riche collection, the lipsticks are quite moisturising. Oh and can we just talk about the packaging. The velvet packaging, designed for each character makes me love the lipsticks even more ♥. B&B swatch.png

For everyone who has been looking for the lipsticks, check out Amazon Italy and most of the shades should be in stock. Why not add a bit of Disney to your lipstick/makeup collection?

Bobbi Brown Art Stick Liquid Lip

DSC_3973.JPGThis is something I have been excited to talk about! So a few months ago when I saw this product on Instagram, I searched everywhere trying to find out what it was. After days of researching, I eventually found out it was a Bobbi Brown lip product and was ready to buy it, but it hadn’t been launched at the time.. so I had to wait (great, waiting..). Of course, me being me, I kept going onto the website to see if it had launched, which it hadn’t and there was no launch date. I signed up to receive an email about when it was going to launch so that I could buy one ASAP!

In March, when I wasn’t expecting it, I got an email saying the product was out! The day after, I took a trip to a Bobbi Brown store close to uni to pick up my Art Stick. Okay.. I skipped a couple of lectures so that I had time to go, but I don’t feel guilty about it. I got to Bobbi Brown and probably sat there for about 45 mins with the makeup artist looking at different shades and tested about 7 of them. After all that time, I finally decided on a shade, but I kind of had my eyes set on another shade too, so I bought two (couldn’t help it).Art Stick

I have the shades Cherry and English Rose, two very pretty and wearable colours. The liquid lipstick is matte, but doesn’t make the lips feel dry. I feel that with other liquid lipsticks like NYX, tend to dry out and makes the lips feel really dry and clumpy. But with the Bobbi Brown one, although it’s matte, it feels really hydrating, so you wouldn’t need to keep reapplying. The colours are very pigmented and last on me for a good 4-5 hours. Even after the colour fades, it tints the lips, so it looks like there’s still something on the lips. Let’s just say it’s a more natural look.

Downside: I haven’t quite got the hang of using the actual lipstick. I find it a bit difficult to get the product out as it is in a squeezable tube, but maybe it’s something to get used to.

I love the selection of shades and might possibly splurge on another.. just waiting for payday! The colours are pretty and I’d say the art stick is different to other liquid lipsticks that are around. I recommend it for everyone’s lipstick collection and its something you won’t regret it or get buyer’s remorse (I definitely didn’t!).

Hi again…

I feel like I disappeared from here. It’s been a really long time since I’ve posted anything… but I’m back and hopefully I won’t disappear again!

So being in uni, I had waaaaay too many assignments due in the last month and it made me feel really panicky. I wanted to put 100% into all my assignments, which is why I didn’t post anything. I needed to concentrate on studying and all the work I had, so I didn’t get time for my blog :(. Then when I did get a bit of time, I was working during the day, so again.. no time!

I have been thinking about my blog for ages and got so many of ideas on what to blog about. There’s a huge list of things I want to write about and I can’t stop thinking about it! Now that my assignments are out of the way (BEST FEELING EVER), I can now focus on the blog and start posting regularly.

I’m excited to start writing again and to actually get this blog off the road!

Look forward to it!!! 😉 xxx

Asiana Beauty Box

A box full of makeup and skincare products.DSC_3961.JPG

Sounds good? And not just any brands, there’s Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Mac, Origins and Smashbox. Even better right? It got me excited! The Asianabox includes all of this for only £25. YES, ONLY £25! I was scrolling on Facebook and saw the ad. I looked at the comments and people were giving good reviews for it, so obviously I had to buy it. Delivery was quick. I got an email saying that it would take 10 days but it actually took 3!

I opened my parcel to see a box (a nice looking box). I took the lid off and there were cards, one thank you note, some showing each product and the other giving advice on how to use each product. I opened the tissue paper and there appeared the products. Ok so I’m not going to lie, some of the products were a bit smaller than I expected. A few of them were sample sizes, but I read online that people got original sizes.. but people meant that the products were miniature versions, not sample sizes. I mean for £25 I shouldn’t have expected the full sized products..

So inside the box:the products.JPG

  • Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Triple Action Cleanser
  • Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser
  • Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer
  • Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner Black Ink
  • Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge Lips & Cheek Powder Pink
  • Mac False Lashes Mascara Extreme Black
  • Clinique All About Shadow Duos Night Cap

Although I was surprised about the sizes of some products, I’m still happy with the box. Hey I got all this for £25, of course I’m happy! It’s good that they are small sizes, so I can test them out, see if it’s worth buying the full sizes. I looove the makeup products, especially because they are high end products. I got a Bobbi Brown eyeliner for my eyeliner collection and a lip/cheek duo! I definitely do recommend it to everyone. You do get some full sized products, so why not! How I like to keep fit

I thought it would be good to continue on about my health and fitness regime. So what I do now is kind of similar but I’m more about maintaining my body rather than the “NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT RIGHT NOW” thing.

So, fitness: I like to walk to places rather than driving unless it’s far. Walking is fun! Just stick some headphones in and explore the area. Commuting to London for uni involves a lot of walking. And running. I run a lot through stations to catch trains. By the time I get on the train, I have mini heart attacks (don’t worry, not literally). But I see it as my day’s workout if I don’t get time to workout in the morning.

I still use my cross trainer at home. After 20-30 mins of it, based on the amount of sweat that appears, I know that I’ve done a good workout on there. Back then I religiously did Zumba at home. And actually I still do it now, but just not that often. Ever just wake up and feel like dancing? That’s me, so I gotta do a bit of Zumba! I also get the urge to skip. But I’m not the best at it. When the weather gets better and hopefully that’s soon (yaay British weather..), I’m going to practice and improve my time – I can only skip for about 10 seconds.DSC_3930.jpg

But wait.. there’s more. One thing I tell everyone about is Blogilates. I have been doing Blogilates on YouTube for a couple of years and it’s the best! You’ll find a huge range of pilates, cardio and strength videos, all by Cassey Ho. Not only does she have workout videos, but she posts about recipes, that look so good! And she also talks about her own experiences, which I find really inspiring and it’s stuff I can connect to, so check it out!

I was also introduced to the 30 day shred (which can be found on YouTube as well). It’s a 20 minute workout for 30 days, with strength (using weights), cardio and ab moves, which will make you sweat. Honestly. After 20 minutes, you’ll be on the floor. There are 3 levels: Do Level 1 for 10 days, Level 2 for the next 10 days then Level 3 for the last 10 days. Pretty easy right? I’ve been doing the 30 day shred for 5 months (so repeating it every month) and I have seen a difference. I’m starting to tone and I’m getting fitter! I can almost do a push up, which is an achievement for me!

Can I just add, to be fit, you don’t need a gym! I have never been to a gym before. Well actually I tried last year. I went for 2 weeks and didn’t find it fun compared to the things I do at home. In an hour at the gym, I would sweat a little bit, but not as much as a 20 minute workout at home. So those days where you really can’t find the motivation to leave the house to go to the gym, why not workout at home? Give Blogilates a try or maybe attempt the 30 days shred!

And just remember, keep fit to be happy 🙂 xxx

My Weightloss Journey pt.2

During the weightloss period, I was concentrating on getting to a certain number and only worked out to lose weight. When losing weight, I noticed that some months I would actually drop in numbers, but other times it would stay the same. Around December 2013 to March 2014, even if I was pushing myself, sweating loads and eating clean, the scales weren’t going down. I kept thinking about it and it was stressing me out. I even felt like giving up with working out. But I thought about all that hard work I did put in and all that motivation, so I carried on with what I was doing. After a bit f patience and stepping up my game, the weight was going down. In the end I reached up goal weight and I was really proud of myself.

Looking back, I think losing weight got a bit obsessive. Losing weight was the only thing I could think about then. But that is unhealthy. I kept weighing myself, looking in the mirror and seeing how I could keep losing weight. This affected me mentally. So what I want to say to everyone who does want to lose weight is to not just go by numbers, because it will make losing weight a stressful thing and that’s not what it should be about. You should feel happy and motivated about losing weight. Rather than waking up and thinking “I need to weigh myself” and hope for the numbers to go down, wake up and just enjoy working out, think about how fun it actually is! Since I got to my goal weight, I haven’t stepped on the scales and I refuse to look at them. I don’t see the need to weigh myself every week or month. I base everything on how happy I am, if I feel fitter and if my clothes still fit me. Also, if you are weighing yourself, don’t worry about if the number on the scale isn’t going down even if you are regularly working out and eating well. It’s called a plateau. All bodies go through it when losing weight and it isn’t something to worry about. It happens for a number of reasons: 1) when you’re closer to your goal weight, there is less fat to burn, so it is harder to lose it. 2) you’re body wants to hold onto the last bits of fat, making it harder burn it off. But don’t worry, it happens to so many people! Just kquote.jpgeep going with working out and eating healthy, maybe change up the routine, find different ways of working out and you will come out of the plateau in no time.

I now work out and eat well to be happy. I love waking up and working out! It gives me the energy boost for the day ahead and I feel more active. I hope that rather seeing this negatively, everyone sees this as a bit of advice from my experience! One more thing… always love your body! 🙂 xxx

Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Mask

Bubbles? YES BUBBLES!

I have been wanting the clay mask for such a long time and finally bought it last month. I love face masks and all things skin care, especially Korean products, so I had to buy it (you can find it on eBay).

It took about a month to come because it was from South Korea, but I’m used to waiting for things from eBay.. yes I buy a lot from eBay.. mostly skincare products.

dsc_3925
It has a little piggy on it!

The parcel finally came and obviously before using it, I had to take pictures of it. Then eventually I opened it. The mask itself is grey because of the clay and it was kind of gooey. Some of the ingredients include green tea (my favourite!), pomegranate, charcoal (of course), aloe vera etc. The mask comes with a mini spatula to make it easier to apply, although I just used my fingers. Of course with a face mask you put it all over your face, which is what I did, then waited for it to work its magic.

DSC_3926.JPG
Grey and gooey.

When I saw the mask, I thought about if it would actually bubble up on the face, just because it was gooey looking. BUT it did bubble up! After a few minutes of putting it on, I heard the bubbles fizz up and saw a few appear on my face. Then after about 10 minutes, more came. Not just a few more, but my face looked like it puffed up with bubbles. It was an interesting look! So more and more bubbles came, my face still looked puffy, like a grey marshmallow if I say so myself. The mask is supposed to harden and exfoliate your face. Not only does it cleanse and exfoliate, but it unclogs pores too! I let it harden a bit then decided it was time to take it off. By the way, that wasn’t the easiest thing to do. The mask refused to come off.. but after scrubbing my face loads, it eventually did come off. Because it was so hard to take off, my face was red and it was stinging slightly, but not to worry, it went down after a while. I closely looked in the mirror and can say YES it did cleanse my face and le pores were no more! The product does what it tells you, which is a relief!

What did I think overall? I do like it, because it’s something that you wouldn’t usually see and my face looks nice and clear, oh and really smooth. The downside for me is taking it off. Maybe I left it on for too long, but without a cloth or something, it won’t come off. But.. that’s only a small thing. So I recommend it if you love face masks. It’s something to add maybe once a week to your skincare routine!
